About

Welcome to St Paul’s.

We are a small and healthy congregation in the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles in the Scottish Episcopal Church. We are linked with Holy Trinity, Dunoon & St Martin’s, Tighnabruaich. The three congregations together form the Episcopal and Anglican church in Cowal and Bute.

Our worship is liturgically rich but informal. Two or three Sundays a month we gather for Communion. We usually sing the mass setting and use the 1982 Scottish Liturgy.

In alternate weeks, we gather for Mattins: a lay led service, based on the 1929 prayer book order for Morning Prayer. TheĀ  psalms and canticles might be said or sung, and there is a mix of traditional and contemporary music.

The church is on the main road, not far from the Tourist Information board, across from the fountain and putting green.

Our normal worship schedule is below. Service times sometimes change at major festivals (Christmas, Easter) and at the time of the Annual Meeting (late November), so please contact us if you will be joining us at those times.

You can also learn more about us by visiting the rector’s blog.

Monthly Worship Schedule:

1st & 3rd Sundays — 11am Mattins

2nd & 5th Sundays — 11 am Eucharist

4th Sunday — 3pm Eucharist

St Paul’s is part of the Anglican Communion in the same family of churches as The Church of England, The Church of Ireland, The Church in Wales, and The Episcopal Church (USA). We are also in communion with the Scandinavian Lutheran Churches under the Porvoo agreement.
