Collect for Michaelmas

Eternal God,
you have ordained and constituted the ministries
of angels and mortals in a wonderful order:
grant that as your holy angels always serve you in heaven,
so, at your command,
they may help and defend us on earth;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

It seems the rector is not the only one who is fond of a particular bit of glass that one is supposed not to like.

He’s such a fine beast. It’s a shame St Michael has to play out his role.

Collect for Trinity 15

Almighty God,
you call your church to witness
that in Christ we are reconciled to you.
Help us so to proclaim he good news of your love,
that all who hear it may turn to  you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
now and forever.

Author and Giver of all good things,
graft in our hearts the love of your name,
increase in us true religion,
nourish us in all goodness,
and of your great mercy keep us in the same;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.  Amen.
